Hans Gilbers

Hans Gilbers, born in 1959, lives and works in 's-Hertogenbosch.

His works are characterized by the endless placement of dots. For him, the dot is the most elementary part of art. It symbolizes its own essence and that of fellow human beings. Each point is like a building block with which he builds up the drawing like a cathedral. During his work he is completely absorbed in those dots.

This search for who he really is is the central theme in his work. The obstacles on that road can be found in various drawings.

Such a 'construction' forms under his hands, changes, is adjusted towards completion. And then the time has come: a great work is created, made up of hundreds of thousands, and sometimes millions of dots
